RailX

US freight rail is strikingly fragmented — five major Class-I railways, almost no shared visibility, and a lot of last-minute human improvisation. I came to it from Europe and my honest first reaction was this is the Wild West. The spark was personal — a post from my friend Trina and my old Blume colleague Chris Haas (who runs rail business development there and now at WiseTech) pulled all the good memories of that work back, right as the hackathon announced an agent-orchestration track. And the chaos is the opportunity, not the problem: more of it means more worth solving. RailX models the network as it actually is — many independent operators that have to coordinate — and makes that distributed reality legible on a single screen. I designed and built it solo in React at the World Model Hackathon.
