The build

One day, solo, at the Wizard Hackathon — Frontier Tower, San Francisco, Sunday June 28, 2026 (32 teams, 14 judges). The mechanic: Oura readiness maps to a tier, the tier sets a 1–5 ceiling, and every feed item gets scored for how activating it is by an LLM through the InsForge AI gateway. Items under the ceiling show normally; items above become a frosted "shielded" card you can still tap to override — the point is autonomy, not nannying. The wow moment: tap "what if I were Sharp?" and the whole screen snaps from dusty-violet rain to neon-lime razor as the shielded cards un-blur and rise. Built on Vite + React, with You.com for live feed sourcing and a live Oura API call that made the whole thing feel magical to make.

Why it's the proof-of-concept

Inner Weather is the direct proof-of-concept for kate.city's living layer — it reuses the same 3-era Oura system (Sharp / Perseverance / Fog, floor 50 / ceiling 98) that morphs this city. It's also NASI realized: NASI's Mood Engine always wanted to curate by emotional state instead of engagement metrics, and the missing piece was a way to actually know your state. The ring answers that — built all the way to a working demo in a single day.

How did it place / how was it received at the Wizard Hackathon? (A prior draft asserted a specific leaderboard rank and judge-vote count with no source — removed. Real result to be supplied.)
