Connecting

This series began with Connection, a stark image of two hands reaching across a dark void. Painted during a time when Katerina Huezo’s marriage was unraveling, it captures a fleeting glimpse of hope in the midst of despair. As the series evolved, she turned to nature for solace and renewal. Works such as California Spirit center the vibrant California poppy as a symbol of life, while Dive and Whale reflect the peace and angst of living by the Pacific Ocean. Most pieces in Connecting can be hung vertically or horizontally — a quiet nod to human adaptability and resilience.
